“They came to the other side of the sea to the region of the Gerasenes. And as soon as He got out of the boat, there met Him out of the tombs a man [under the power] of an unclean spirit. This man continually lived among the tombs, and no one could subdue him anymore, even with a chain; For he had been bound often with shackles for the feet and handcuffs, but the handcuffs of [light] chains he wrenched apart, and the shackles he rubbed and ground together and broke in pieces; and no one had strength enough to restrain or tame him. Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always shrieking and screaming and beating and bruising and cutting himself with stones. And when from a distance he saw Jesus, he ran and fell on his knees before Him in homage, And crying out with a loud voice, he said, what have You to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? [What is there in common between us?] I solemnly implore you by God; do not begin to torment me! For Jesus was commanding, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit! And He asked him, what is your name? He replied, my name is Legion, for we are many. And he kept begging Him urgently not to send them [himself and the other demons] away out of that region. Now a great herd of hogs was grazing there on the hillside. And the demons begged Him, saying; Send us to the hogs, that we may go into them! So He gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out [of the man] and entered into the hogs; and the herd, numbering about 2,000, rushed headlong down the steep slope into the sea and were drowned in the sea.” Mark 5:1-13.
The devil has evil plans against man. The plans are as follows: 1.To steal. 2. To kill. 3. To destroy. (John 10:10). To steal the Soul, kill your purpose on earth and to destroy your life so that you cannot come back to your senses. The devil uses every available means and avenues to frustrate man. He is the one in charge of all the afflictions and troubles of man. He perfects his works by introducing different problems and each problem has a demon attached to it. Take a look at the following list of problems:
1. Sickness and diseases 2. Bareness, impotency, infertility, stagnancy in business. 3. Problems of spirit husband or spirit wife; having sexual intercourse in the dream 4.Near success syndrome, disappointments. 5. Delay in marriage 6.Crises in marriage and miscarriages 7.Poverty. 8. Chain premature death in the family 9.Joblessness.
10. Lost of eye sight, memory failure 11.Insanity 12.Compulsive stealing, Fraud, bed-wetting as an adult 13.Incurable debts. 14. Fear, spirit of death hovering around your life. 15. Bad dreams: nightmares.16. Uncontrolled instincts, promiscuity 17. Bad habit 18.'Hard-luck';people just hating you without reasons, persistent failure 19.Any problems, be it physical, spiritual, family or financial, that has defiled ordinary prayer and fasting 20.Strange objects moving in your body, etc.-MORE THAN TWO THOUSAND!!! Each problem has a demon attached to it! The man in Mark chapter 5 had many demons at the same time. No wonder, every mad person talks to different people (spirits) at the same time.
Mark 5:13 recorded that the herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned. When more than two spirits live in a man, they spirits struggle! There is confusion! Madness! Jesus Christ used the pigs to show us what the demons do when they come in. The demons drove the pigs to untimely death. That confirms what the devil does to you, your business, and your marriage if you do not have Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Rejoice! Jesus Christ came for this purpose! He came to destroy the plans and works of Satan!
''The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He Has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor;
He Has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners/captives
and recovery of sight for the blind,to release/deliver/set at liberty the oppressed.'' Luke 4: 18.
The demons possessed man in Mark Chapter 5 realized that he was not normal; he knew there was a problem hence he ran to Jesus Christ! I believe the sick looks for the doctor. However, this DOCTOR often times looks for us! A great Love!!!!
The demon possessed man’s encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ brought about deliverance. All the evil spirits/demons disappeared and he became normal. If that miracle could take place in the life of that man, there is no one God cannot deliver, heal or bless. No matter the problem, Jesus Christ is ABLE! All round the World, people are giving testimonies of what God is Doing. You are next in line in Jesus Greatest Name. Amen.
